El producto permite obtener energía térmica a la vez que mantiene su compacidad. Se buscan industrias con intercambios de calor (alimentación, química, energía, etc.) con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia y cooperación técnica/investigación para desarrollar conjuntamente el producto.

Industries dealing with heat exchanges (e.g. food, chemical, energy...) are sought for license agreement, or research / technical cooperation agreement for joined development of product design.

All manufacturers or users of plate heat exchangers are willing to gain compactness while keeping strong thermal power.
A French research organization has developed and patented a plate heat exchanger suitable for all kinds of fluids and thermal exchanges. The developed technology covers:
- 1) A heat exchanger integrating one or several modules of plates exchanger in an enclosure under pressure
- 2) A module of heat exchanger integrating at least one fluids circuit

1) The patent of the first innovation is dealing with the elements of design and arrangement of modules to obtain a plate exchanger combining both compactness and high power. All the modules are integrated in an enclosure under pressure aiming safety (while maintaining plates under pressure and limiting failures) and fluids distribution (limiting collector presence and piping gas associated to the modules); therefore guarantying component compactness.

2) The second patent describes a heat exchanger module comprising at least a fluid circuit with an innovative exchange pattern zigzag circulation canals, The canals are superposed one on the other in phase opposition and connecting together in intersection zones in mixing zones (leading therefore to a tridimensional flow enabling to enhance thermal exchange). For the same dimension point, regarding thermal efficiency and energy loss, that exchange module is more compact than a conventional plate module. That exchanger module presents performances on thermal exchanges while at the same time keeping high robustness.

That innovative system has been firstly developed for gas - metal liquid exchanges (e.g. heat exchange between sodium of the secondary loop and nitrogen of tertiary loop of a fast neutrons nuclear reactor), but can potentially be implemented for all kinds of fluids, in all sectors dealing with heat exchange. The implementation requires disposing different plate heat exchangers modules in a multifunctional enclosure. This enables to exchange strong thermal power, while preserving high compactness of equivalent power loss (around 20 to 30 MW/m3 for modules with 1 bar power loss and gas - sodium exchanger).
Advantages and Innovations:
- Compactness: around 20 to 30 MW/m3 for modules, with 1 bar pressure drop thanks to intelligent settings of modules and the enclosure under pressure aiming space saving (modules without manifold nor gas piping).
- Performance: thanks to possible use of innovative exchange pattern, enabling a 3D gas flow. The enclosure minimizes pressure loss of the distributed fluid on the circuit.
- Safety: the enclosure enables to confine fluids (e.g. sodium in case of module failure, leak, ...).
