Un inventor griego ofrece un nuevo aerogenerador. La novedad de esta turbina es el diseño único de la pala, que evita las limitaciones técnicas de las palas tradicionales. Se trata de un diseño efectivo, fiable (desde hace años están en funcionamiento dos prototipos) y fácil de fabricar. El sistema es capaz de aprovechar al máximo la utilización de energía y también está indicado para uso doméstico, teniendo un bajo nivel de ruido. El aerogenerador puede funcionar con un flujo de viento mínimo y consta de dos placas que operan como la vela de un barco. Estas placas sustituyen a las palas convencionales de la turbina y tienen forma de hemisferio con el interior cóncavo. El inventor busca empresas con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia.

Description:

A Greek inventor offers an innovative small or medium sized wind turbine system. The system is capable for maximizing the wind energy utilization. It is also suitable for domestic use, with low noise.

This innovative wind turbine generator can operate with minimum wind flow. It consists of two plates that operate like a sail cloth of a sailing boat. These plates, which actually replace the common blades of a turbine, are like hemispheres and their interior is concave.

Due to the innovative concave plates, the turbine can operate with variably and irregularly blowing air easily. The plates convert the irregular flow into a continuous flow of air, blowing towards one direction and at the same time moving the surface of the turbine´s plate in the opposite direction. In this way the operation of the turbine is maximized while the turbine is always safe.

The hemispheres, in contrast to the common turbine blades, have the advantage of collecting large volume of air and thus provide a high-accelerating force. The whole shape of the hemispheres is like a drop, allowing them to operate and move perfectly and continuously.

A prototype with 0,5 m. concave plates is available for demonstration. The prototype is working for years with no problem and it is capable to produce 1 KW of energy with just 15 km/h wind speed.

The Greek inventor is looking for companies interested in producing and commercializing the design under a licence agreement.
Advantages and Innovations:
The innovation of this system is the replacement of the traditional blades as well as the tail of the common turbine with concave hemispheres that can immediately match wind fluctuations and changing directions.
Concerning the rotation of the plates towards their axis, the more that the falling air increases the rotation and due to the right angle of the inclination, the volume of the imported air can push forward, towards the wind´s direction and thus balance the accepted pressure. The result is a high performing wind turbine that could provide higher power, at any wind speed, compared to the conventional designs.
Additional advantages of the proposed turbine are the following. Quiet operation since there are no blades. Simplicity of production, the design is easy to be produced. Cheaper production cost and easy to be installed and operate allow the turbine to be successful for commercialization.
