La productividad de una cámara de evaporación es de 2 a 6 m3/h en función del grado de desgasificación de la cavidad. El evaporador está indicado para destilación de agua salada y tratamiento de agua. La eficiencia de los evaporadores supercavitacionales se determina principalmente por el valor de la superficie de evaporación. El grupo de investigación busca socios con el fin de formar un consorcio para llevar a cabo actividades de investigación y promocionar la tecnología en el mercado. Otros posibles acuerdos incluyen la venta de la licencia, mantenimiento de la tecnología, etc.

Summary:
A team of Ukrainian researchers has carried out investigations and designed a compact supercavitation evaporator for water. Productivity of one evaporation chamber, depending on the degree of degassing of the cavity, is from 2 to 6 m3/h. Evaporator is intended for sea water distillation and for water treatment.
Partners are needed for creation of a consortium, carrying out additional research, promoting the technology to the market. Possible license selling, technological maintenance etc.
Description:
The process of evaporation in apparatuses of supercavitation type is carried out through the supercavity walls by way of withdrawal of vapor from it.
The productivity of a cavitation evaporator is determined, on one hand, by the processes of evaporation of liquid into a cavity and, on the other hand, by carryover of a certain portion of vapor-gas mixture through its pulsating part. The efficiency of supercavitation evaporators is determined mainly by the value of evaporation surface. The value of evaporation surface depends on a number of factors, the principal ones being the value of vapor extraction, the cavitation number, the Froude number, the degree of restraint of the flow, the value of underheating of the working liquid, the extent of mineralization of the input water, physical properties of the liquid.
The process of evaporation in supercavitation evaporators can be represented as two interconnected processes:
1. Creation of optimum-size supercavities.
2. The extraction of vapor and its subsequent condensation.
The humidity of the vapor extracted from the cavity depends on the shape of closing of the tail of the cavity, periods of rise and disappearance of the reverse jet and also on hydrodynamic, thermal and constructional parameters of the supercavitation evaporator.
Fig. 1 is a layout of the supercavitation evaporator.
The particular feature of the apparatus is a flow circuit allowing to achieve a 17-fold re-circulation degree of the evaporated liquid.
The apparatus can work both in re-circulation mode using additional heating, and also in direct-flow mode without re-circulation. The economy of the second mode is determined by utilization of heat of mineralized condensates at the expense of decrease of their temperature. The productivity of a single evaporation chamber in dependence of vacuumizing degree of the cavity is 2 to 6 m3/hour.


Current and Potential Domain of Application: Water treatment and distillation systems. Especially in case of absence of drinking water sources. Sea transport, seashore, salted groundwater etc.

a) simplicity, operational reliability and high efficiency,
b) minimum steel intensity;
c) ease of assembly, operation and repair;
d) impermeability and density of all construction units and joints;
e) no boiler deposits.
