Description:
The university from Latvia, involved in field of electronics and power transformer diagnostics has developed an invention that pertains to high-voltage electric systems. A method for diagnosis of power transformer winding fault is proposed, along with a device, by experimentally obtaining the current signals of all the phases of the transformer and recording the instantaneous values of the obtained signals at the moment when the transformer is connected to the grid, as well as by generating the complex value of the signal harmonics and determining the relationships of the higher current harmonics to the base harmonic, which serve as the basis for judging about the existence of turn-to-turn faults.
University is offering technical cooperation agreement in order to provide interested parties with diagnostics method and device for detecting internal faults.
Advantages and Innovations:
The essence of the invention is as follows: first, the experimentally obtained current signal harmonics are filtered from the arbitrary interference, the exponential component is separated, the signals are divided into the positive and negative half-periods. For the negative half-periods, a discrete Fourier transformation is performed; after that, the ratios of the 5th to 15th harmonic to the base harmonic are determined, which serves as a basis for detecting a turn-to-turn fault.
