Un laboratorio francés especializado en investigación básica en física de la materia condensada ha desarrollado una microfuente de energía autónoma para sensores, sistemas integrados y dispositivos móviles. El objetivo es recuperar energía térmica y convertirla en electricidad. La escasa cantidad de energía generada puede utilizarse, por ejemplo, en sistemas de IoT (Internet de las Cosas) y redes. El laboratorio busca socios industriales (pymes con más de 10 empleados, compañías de mediana capitalización y grandes empresas) en los sectores de IoT, electrónica de consumo o sistemas conectados/integrados con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia, investigación o cooperación técnica.

Summary:
A French laboratory has developed a microsource of autonomous energy dedicated to sensors, embedded systems and mobile devices. The purpose of the technology is to recover thermal energy and convert it into electricity. The little quantity of energy generated could be use for IoT systems and networks for example. The French lab is looking for industrial collaborations to put on the market its technology under various types of cooperation : license, research or technical cooperation agreements.
Description:
The French laboratory is specialized in fundamental research in condensed matter physics, which involve disciplines such as chemistry, engineering and biology.
A research team from the laboratory is working on energy recovery and generation at micro-scale.
The thermal energy presents advantage of being present all around us, but the quantity of energy is small or very small. The idea is to realize a system of thermal energy recuperation to reuse it in small communicant systems like sensors network.
The project is a micro-generator, compact and robust to be used as autonomous generator, using the small gradient of temperature.
The gradient of temperature is due to the difference between atmospheric or environmental conditions and the silicon temperature of the component.
This thermal difference is an energetic source of a few quantity of electricity. this energy could be used to transfer data from a sensor to another sensor or to a data center. For this work, it´s not necessary to have a big quantity of energy and the recuperation of the around energy is enough to transfer data and allows communication between IoT systems.
The laboratory has developed the technical solution to convert thermal difference in an energy source. The solution is available for demonstration and need to be designed for industrial or commercial use.

Partners sought are industries (SMEs except under 10 employees, mid-caps, large companies) from the IoT, consumer electronics or connected/embedded systems sectors.

Various type of cooperation could be envisaged : license agreement with industrial integrator of the technology, research cooperation agreement for further R-Y-D developments or technical cooperation agreement to customize and adapt the technology to industries requirements.

The solution proposed by the French laboratory allows small energy quantities production and recuperation, in continuous current or alternative one.
The compactness of the solution is its main advantage.
This solution allows to imagine new compact, robust and autonomous sensors for temperature measurement or data transfer with wireless systems.
The sensors are communicating with their environment and with other IoT systems with a common or standard communication protocol. The sensors don´t need another energy source, they operate without battery and finally require less maintenance.

The French lab is looking for industries to develop applications and products integrating their technology.
The Lab is the technical expert, scientist consultant or / and integrator for prototype and first product.
The industrial partner could be able to own the final product, integrating the energetic microsource and define the specifications for an efficient system. The industrial is the integrator of the technology.
The collaboration agreement would be a license agreement if the industrial only wants to integrate the technology to its product.
Further collaboration could be a research cooperation agreement in order to improve the performances of the energetic microsource technology.
Other cooperation type could be a technical cooperation agreement for helping industries to integrate and tailor the technology to their market specifications.
