Description:
Lithuanian Institute proposes expertise in developing, modeling and adapting macro/micro-scale sensors and actuators with focus on piezoelectric transducers, to industrial processes. Integration of advanced sensors, actuators and piezoelectric transducers, enables streamlining of production processes as well as higher production quality, lower energy and resource consumption. Currently, the main research focus of the dynamics laboratory team is on: I) Development of smart, self-powering, wireless monitoring devices for shop-floor environment and their integration into cloud manufacturing; II) Devices and techniques for ultrasonically assisted drilling/grinding of binderless tungsten carbide (bWC) and other hard brittle materials (glass, ceramics etc.), in pursuit of achieving lower critical brittle-ductile transition parameters; III) Devices and techniques for ultrasonically assisted turning of hard brittle materials (bWC, glass, ceramics etc.), for optical mold element manufacture, chemical tool wear reduction and lower critical brittle-ductile transition parameters.
Institute is looking academia partners for commercial agreement with technical assistance, research cooperation agreements.
