Un instituto tecnológico italiano ha desarrollado una tecnología de producción de aceite ultra estable en nanoemulsiones acuosas revestidas con una sola capa o múltiples capas de polímero con estabilidad mecánica adaptable y capacidad de protección. Las nanocápsulas con núcleo de aceite se emplean para vehiculación y administración oral de nutracéuticos. Estas nanocápsulas no son citotóxicas y pueden revestirse con chitosán modificado con tiol para conferir propiedades de alta capacidad mucoadhesiva. Se buscan socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos de comercialización con asistencia técnica, licencia o cooperación técnica.

An Italian institute of technology has developed a technology for the production of ultrastable oil in water nanoemulsions coated with a single polymer layer or multiple layers with tunable mechanical stability and protection capability. Commercial agreements with technical assistance, license agreements and technical cooperation agreements are sought.
Description:
Currently, there is a strong need for an effective administration of nutraceuticals which are nature based molecules with anti-inflammatory, antiradical and sometimes anticancer activity. An Italian Institute of technology offers its technology expertise in the production of oil core nanocapsules for vehiculation and oral delivery of nutraceuticas. The Institute has proposed technology able to produce ultrastable oil in water nanoemulsions coated with a polymer layer.
To improve mechanical stability and protection capability, they have also been developed polymer layer by layer nanocapsules as well as silica nanocapsules around nanoemulsions.
In both cases, the thickness can be tuned from few nm to tens of nm. All the nanocapsules are no cytotoxic and can be coated with thiol modified chitosan to provide high mucoadhesive adhesion properties.
Results on the capability to encapsulate nutraceuticals are available, such as curcumin in all the kinds of nanocapsules above described. Furthermore, preliminary results on the oral delivery and the benefits coming from the nanoencapsulation are also available. At this aim, the institute is willing to explore opportunities for valorizing the outcomes of its research through commercial agreements with technical assistance, license agreements and technical cooperation.

The technology offer can combine the following advantages:
- capability of high payloads of lipophilic compounds thanks to the inner oil compartment
- monodispersion and control of the size in the range of 100-200 nm
- enhanced mucoadhesive properties thanks to the outer layer
- capability to control protection degree thanks to the tunable thickness of the nanocapsule;
- capability to control mechanical stability of the nanocapsules thanks to the possibility to tune thickness and kind of shell material (polymeric multilayer or -inorganic).
