Description:
The Italian development team, with experience in biomedical engineering and electromechanical actuators proposes an innovative electromechanical actuator, the process to make it and possible strategies to commercially spread the product on the global market. The actuator has been developed foreseen a wide range of configurability, in terms of force and speed, in order to fit with the requirements of the all the areas in which electromechanical actuators are currently used with significant savings in money.
The technology behind this project has an advanced stage of development with the realization of different prototypes overcoming various technological obstacles that arose to achieve the expected performance. The prototype of the innovative actuator that brings the most performing technological solutions and purely cylindrical, capable of almost doubling its length and sees an electric motor of about 300W equipped with a shaft output speed of 600rpm and a max torque of 50Nm which determines an excursion of the rod with a maximum thrust of 700Kg and an excursion of 80mm in less 0.1s.
Companies working in the actuators sector or in the related ones are sought in order to finalize the industrialization and commercialization of the electromechanical actuator, fitting the different needs of the market, through commercial or licensing agreements and technical cooperation. The collaboration could be finalized also with the creation of a joint venture.
Advantages and Innovations:
The cylindrical shape factor and excursion almost doubles the length of the actuator for a compactness and minimum dimensions unlike all the actuators currently on the market whose solutions are often only apparently compact (traditional hydraulic or pneumatic actuators present significant and unavoidable encumbrances).
It is characterized by high positioning accuracy and repeatability (0.01 mm) thanks to the absence of interacting components that can accumulate errors such as screw / nut systems or to the compressibility of the fluids used to transfer energy to the thrust component.
The high resilience and low cost of the constituent components are obtained thanks to the particular kinematic structure that does not use toothed belts or screw / nut systems.
It is characterized by high excursion speed and high-performance configurability both thanks to the configurability of the kinematics and the possibility of coupling reduction systems to the electric motor. The excursion speed involves a significant increase in production costs in traditional technologies.
Minimum aesthetic factor for applications requiring architectural or aesthetic contents.
It can be combined with other technologies of equal compactness to increase performance.
Feasibility with a large variety of materials such as: metals, plastics, composites, etc.
High energy efficiency thanks to the direct transformation of electrical energy into force unlike what pneumatic and hydraulic actuators do.
It can be made with widely used technologies available on the market.
Low need for infrastructures (pipes, valves, accumulation systems, etc.) for the transmission of the energy used contrary to what is necessary for hydraulic or pneumatic actuators.
