Innovative silent, visual vehicle alarm system with jammer-proof tracking capability
Summary:
A UK based entrepreneur with police experience has developed a vehicle alarm system with an innovative license plate that flashes "stolen" in bright letters when a vehicle is moved without consent. The system also incorporates a mobile sim (subscriber identity module) card for activation and tracking. This system aims to overcome the drawbacks of the existing technologies on the market. The company is seeking partners for potential license agreements or technical cooperation agreements.
Description:
The traditional vehicle alarm is no longer a deterrent for the determined thief. Vehicles are often stolen using the keys following burglary or by using illegal electronic apparatus to bypass vehicle security. Often the vehicle is simply placed on a trailer and driven off. This has led to the development of tracking devices for vehicles that assist with their recovery if they are stolen. These tracking systems have inherent disadvantages and mean that no one system can provide foolproof protection for valuable assets such as vehicles.

A UK based entrepreneur has developed a system that combines a number of features in order to maximise the chances of recovering a stolen vehicle. The primary innovation is an EU style license plate that incorporates an invisible LED illumination system. When activated by unauthorised movement of the vehicle the system flashes the word "stolen", automatically alerting the Police and owner by text message and raises the profile to alert members of the public that a theft is taking place and they should alert the authorities. This technology is combined with the location based services using the mobile network in order to monitor the vehicle, activate the license plate system and send details of its location.

The entrepreneur has a police background and has developed this technology with the guidance of industry experts. A prototype system has been developed and can be demonstrated. The system would be applicable in all countries that use the EU-style license plates. Partners are sought from the vehicle tracking/vehicle alarm industry who would wish to jointly develop the technology and get it to market or license the use of the technology.
Advantages and Innovations:
The following advantages over current on the market systems include:

- Does not require installation of equipment in police vehicles
- Covert when not in use
- Highly visible when activated
- Tamper proof design
- User monitoring of vehicle
- Police can be alerted
- Immune to GPS jamming
