Description:
Ultraviolet radiation from sunlight is the main cause of skin cancer. Increased UV radiation exposure, much of it caused by sunbathing or tanning under UV lamps, is the main contributing factor in skin cancer. The incidence of which is rising rapidly worldwide. Of the three types of UV radiation (UVA, UBV and UVC), UVC is the most harmful but fortunately does not penetrate the earth's atmosphere. Recent extensive research suggests that UVB is the predominant cause of skin cancer, but UVA can also cause damage. Worldwide around 20 million people per annum are suffering from skin cancer.

The innovative sheet has been developed to allow sensible enjoyment of sunshine and to remain protected from more harmful rays (UVBs). Sun creams do not allow the same level of protection and can irritate the skin. The product is made of acrylic (thickness from 3mm to 12 mm) in a clear and silk finish. Various colours may be available, subject to testing. It is in the actual manufacture that the chemical inhibitor in the mix is added which filters out the dangerous UVB rays.

The material is placed above the body in a suitable fixing, for example a conservatory or framework on a beach or dining area that will act as a barrier between the body and the sun. It has many uses such as the beach, dining area, above swimming pools, conservatories, sports stadiums etc.

The product has been tested to destruction under laboratory conditions and outdoors in the Nevada desert. Scientific professional help can be made available for further testing and development where necessary.
