Esta solución se deposita mediante inyección de tinta y se injerta en vidrio gracias a los componentes ópticamente activos. La solución se emplea en recipientes de vidrio, como botellas, frascos, bombillas, jeringas, etc., y en función de la aplicación puede instalarse en cualquier lugar de la cadena. La empresa busca dos tipos de socios en Europa o Estados Unidos: compañías informáticas, institutos de investigación o universidades especializados en gestión de bases de datos logísticas, así como fabricantes de impresoras de inyección de tinta o con tecnología drop-on-demand.


Innovative solution of traceability on glass
French SME has developed an innovative solution of unique, visible or invisible coding dedicated to traceability on glass. This solution is deposited by inkjet and grafted into glass thanks to optically active components.
They are looking for two types of partners in Europe or USA for technical or research cooperation: ICT companies, research institutes or universities specialised in logistic database management and printers manufacturers Continuous InkJet / Drop-On-Demand.
A French SME has developed a solution of traceability on glass to answer to industrials´ request. They worked with a research institute to synthesize a chromographic ground-freezing precursor programmed to be grafted on glass. This innovative solution is a real breakthrough resulting from the nanoscience.

Actually alternatives existing solutions are :
- Serigraphy on bottle which do not allow unique marking because it is only possible to obtain series of identical markings and need temperature of 600°C.
- Laser marking on bottle which allow giving indelible marking but with a difficult reading during a classical industrial process, they are also risk of micro cracks in glass.
- Classical ink jet is not acceptable because usual and common inks do not stick well on the glass and can be easily removed by friction with finger or with ethanol.

This innovative solution is a unit, visible or invisible coding dedicated to the traceability of glass packaging: bottles, jar, bulbs, syringes etc. It is deposited by ink jet then transformed into glass under a weak radiation of electromagnetic waves.

Glass marking is an endemic problem because of its bad catch/hanging. They solved this problem by the formulation of an ink which is grafted to glass. Based on the Sol-Gel technology and a latest research of a French research institute, this method allows the grafting of optically active components. They will provide to these customers an ink necessary to the marking operation. According to the type of application, the printer could be installed at any place on the chain. Then, marking will be subjected to irradiation by LEDs to start the chemical sol-gel reaction. Marking will be controlled by a reader. Readers are common devices with a specific light and a camera, both commercially available. The cost of reader is moderate (2 to 5 k-Y-euro;). Printing, cross-linking and reading are very quick (20 000 times per hour) and compatible with industrial processes.

This innovative solution is the only one at this moment on the market that can address both security and traceability application requirements. This technology is actually adapted to pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industry sectors.

-> Ecological impact compare to other processes: technology realizes a cold grafting by soft chemistry, which involves:
- No use of paper or adhesive. Marking on glass requires pre-processing (plasma, corona, flaming, primary deposit) to obtain a good adhesion of inks. This technology removes these phases because the ink is grafted directly on glass by chemical bonds.
- Less energy consumption (electricity and gas) compared to serigraphy on glass which requires 600° C temperatures, this technology is grafted at ambient temperature.

-> Properties of tracer and of authenticating of this solution protect the brands and the distribution networks by giving means to fight against the grey market and counterfeiting. In production, it avoids the cross-contamination (anti-mixture).
