The new technology established anaerobic conditions in silo mass in only 2 hours, that means 50 times faster then existing technologies. The company seeks partners for license and commercial agreement with technical support.

A small Serbian spin off company from Agriculture faculty has developed innovative technology of ensiling animal feeds with multidisciplinary experts/researchers in the fields: technology and the sublimation of gases, microbiology, technology of ensiling, feeding of domestic animals, and the chemical composition of various plants.
This innovative technology uses only CO2 as an additive, without inoculants additives, enzymes, or any other, which is the result of a complex research from numerous scientific disciplines.
The company had performed all the necessary preliminary trials in silage of different species of plants (corn, alfalfa, etc.) and different hybrids.
Before market launch, the company carried out considerable research, with a single goal, easy and cost-effective application of the technology at the farm in order to obtain high quality of silage.
In the period 2012-2013, studies were extended to the farm conditions using the new silage technology in practice for feeding cows, beef cattle and sheep. The innovation of new ensiling technology was tested on the commercial farm, with the aim of applying the present innovation on different days for the silo opening 8, 15, 40 and 100 day with quality testing of silage mass on farms in practical conditions. The analyses of aerobic stability indicated prolonged time (3 times longer than existing ensiling technology) of nutritive silage value preservation. It was remarkable evidence of increasing voluntary silage intake during the feeding sheep, beef cattle, dairy cows on different farms.
The researches were conducted in order to establish the relationship between the patented additives and the patented innovative technology solutions with the different quantities of plants that are ensilaged, the plant species and the specific conditions on the farm.
The innovation has three main roles in the production of silage: 1. anaerobic environment is achieved more rapidly; 2. it enables immediately the growth and development of the Lactic Acid Bacteria, (there is not ``waiting`` aerobic phase), decreases the pH value and increases the amount of lactic acid in the silage which is preservative. At the same time, the antimicrobial and bactericide effect of CO2 decreases the Dry Matter (DM) losses and preserves the quality of the silage.; 3. prevents post-heating of silo mass.
Ensiling success depends on the proper development of lactic acid fermentation silo mass. Traditional techniques and current additives on the market are always included in the initial aerobic phase during ensiling, before the onset of lactic acid fermentation. This phase creates the greatest losses because it allows the development of undesirable microorganisms. This innovative technology shorten aerobic phase on only 2 hours, leading fermentation in the desired direction. The innovative technology is adjusted to the conditions on the farm and farmers do not have to to purchase additional equipment.
The company is interested in two forms of cooperation: the first is the sale of intellectual property rights through licence agreement, and second is providing services during the ensiling process using the new technology directly on farms through commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Preserved the nutritional value of plants, voluntary intake increasing, minimized losses, lower costs, easy implementation, the raw materials are available in every country (no import) without the need of making stocks are mainly obtained benefits for partner by applying the new technologies.
At the sale of intellectual property buyer and his employees will receive training and ongoing support. Buyer of intellectual property rights or of the entire patent receives with the new technology prestigious position in the global market.
Advantages and Innovations:
Novelty is the technology which uses patented procedure and specific patented mixture of carbon-dioxide (in solid and gaseous state) for the purpose of achieving anaerobic condition in the production of silage.
Specific patented mixture of carbon-dioxide (in solid and gaseous state) is inert gas mixture, without living any residues or moisture and consequently preserving the quality of the silage. CO2 is denser than air, pressing out air and oxygen and markedly rapid created an anaerobic environment allowing development natural Lactic Acid Bacteria present already on plant surface. On the first day, immediately after silos covering the whole silage is vacuum packed. It significantly speeds up the ensiling process in 8 days (routine techniques requires 40 days), it is relatively easy to handle and most importantly it has a low initial cost.
Advantages are:
1. Entire initial crop that ensile is preserved, (no more throwing spoiled parts of silage);
2. It is adjusted to the conditions on the farm meaning no needed changes/purchasing;
3. Obtain high feeding value of silage with positive reflection on animal production;
4. Enables early opening of the silo after 8 days (existing ensiling techniques permitting the opening the silo until after 4-6 weeks);
5. Aerobic stability is extended compared to the conventional approach (3 times longer);
6. It is adjusted to the specific conditions of each farm; there are several different patent solutions that can meet the direct needs of every farm ensiling process;
7. It prevents the post-heating silo masses as it is in the case of prolonged filling of the silo, bad weather, eliminates the danger of reheating silo weight loss-making because it allows the growth of microorganisms that cause spoilage (etc. aflatoxins) and losses of nutritive value;
8. Cost of applying new technologies and additives is 50% lower than the existing in the market, and it is environmentally safe.
