Una universidad checa con más de 20 años de experiencia en diseño, síntesis y caracterización de derivados de purina ha desarrollado un nuevo compuesto antisenescente con efecto protector de la piel basado en una hormona vegetal natural. Este compuesto ha sido diseñado para cuidado multifuncional de la piel y cosmético, actúa en concentraciones muy bajas y ofrece una mayor disponibilidad y estabilidad que otros compuestos conocidos. La universidad busca un socio comercial con el fin de establecer acuerdos de investigación, licencia o joint venture.

A Czech university has developed a new antisenescent compound with skin-protecting effect based on a natural plant hormone. It is designed for multi-functional skin benefit and cosmetic care. The compound acts at very low concentrations and provides improved availability, stability, compared to known compounds. The university looks for commercial partner for mutual research cooperation agreement or a licence agreement or a joint venture agreement.
Description:
A Czech university has a long term experience in basic and applied research of different plant hormones and is a leader in research and design of antisenescent cytokinin derivatives.There is more than 20 years of experience in design, synthesis and characterization of purine derivatives.

The newly developed derivatives are better for utilization in cream base in comparion with existing compounds. This improvement is a result of long-term experiments in the university. The goal of the technology is to provide more sophisticated compounds applicable in a wide variety of cosmetic applications, especially those having improved availability, selectivity, efficiency and no toxicity than known compounds.

Potential of the developed substance is given by the fact that the derivative is of natural origin which gives the commercial partner marketing and advertising advantage. Using cell lines of human cells cultivated in vitro was proved to be non-toxic. Added value is also in better handling, stability and solubility in used medium.

A link between chemistry, molecular and chemical biology allows the scientists to quickly solve problems together with commercial partner. The research team is flexible to evaluate relationship between the structure of the substance and its biological activity.
There are experiences with licensing and other types of cooperation with commercial partners mainly from EU and USA including multinational companies.

Advantages and Innovations:
The main advantage/innovation is that the compound is multifunctional, has proved skin benefit and no skin or eye irritation, no toxicity up to high concentrations and multifunctional skin protectivity.

The university compared efficiency of new derivative with kinetin and pyratine and the new substance had better results in bioassays, so less compound is needed for preparation of effective treatment. This advantage might significantly decrease production costs.
