El dron está equipado con una unidad para el control electrónico del vuelo y estabilidad en la navegación, una cámara de adquisición de todos los parámetros del vuelo, un equipo de fotografía digital de alta resolución, una estación terrestre de control basada en PC para planificación del vuelo con interfaz basada en Google Earth y un software de planificación del vuelo y de todos los parámetros necesarios. Description:
A small Italian company with a long-time experience in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, and photogrammetric surveys in the field of architecture, archaeology and environment, developed an innovative fixed-wing drone.

The fixed-wing system operates through electronic equipment on board and ashore and allows making photographic acquisitions on different scales at heights that are difficult to reach for other aircrafts.

The drone is equipped with an electronic control unit for the control of flight and navigation stability, the camera management and the acquisition of all the parameters related to flight (such as height, speed, GPS coordinates, compass, etc.); a high resolution digital photo equipment (or other sensor); a ground station control pc-based for flight planning and for the parameters of acquisition, with an interface based on Google Earth for real-time visualization of the aircraft; a software for scheduling and flight planning and all the necessary parameters.
The platform is approximately 150 cm and is made of Expanded Polyolefin (EPO), which is a lightweight material with high-strength take-off. The system includes a rapid take-off aircraft with electric motor.

The platform can be used for aerial surveys in different fields of application such as for the monitoring of environmental phenomena like landslides and geological disorders; construction sites; road and rail infrastructures; monitoring of landfills, etc.
Advantages and Innovations:
The main advantages of the system are found in: particular attention in flight stability; reliability and collision resistance; resistance in windy conditions; ease of use and transport; relief speed execution; low cost of survey acquisitions; ground station control with 5 cm of ground resolution; ability in mapping inaccessible areas; greater resolution of images than traditional aerial photogrammetry.
