Un instituto de investigación búlgaro con más de 45 años de experiencia en I+D en el campo de electroquímica y sistemas de energía ha desarrollado un nuevo método de prueba y pila de combustible para investigación y evaluación de catalizadores, membranas conductoras de protones y estructuras de electrodos. El principio de funcionamiento se basa en la reversibilidad de las reacciones parciales de electrodos que se producen en estos sistemas, permitiendo el uso de paquetes de electrodos de membrana (MEP) hidrógeno/hidrógeno (H2/H2) y oxígeno/oxígeno (O2/O2). El instituto busca compañías interesadas en establecer acuerdos comerciales con asistencia técnica.

A Bulgarian research institute with more than 45 years of experience in the R-Y-D field of electrochemistry and energy systems has developed an innovative testing method and fuel cell for investigation and evaluation of catalysts, proton conducting membranes and electrode structures. The institute seeks commercial agreements with technical assistance with interested companies.
Description:
The Bulgarian research unit is the leader in the country in the field of electrochemical research, batteries, fuel cells and hydrogen technologies. The institute has implemented successfully international and national project together with industrial and research partners.

The active components of the fuel cells, batteries and electrolysers that are newly researched and developed need to be tested and evaluated in an extensive and rapid manner in order to obtain the experimental result that need to be reached

The innovation developed by the institute exhibits a reliable and quick method for screening and assessment of the active components. The principle of operation is based on reversibility of partial electrode reactions occurring in these systems and allowing the use of hydrogen/hydrogen (H2/H2) and oxygen/oxygen (O2/O2) membrane electrode packages (MEP). The membrane electrode packages (MEP) to be tested are positioned in the test cell (developed by the institute) in common gas environment which has incorporated Peltier element, ensuring strict humidity control. The system is equipped with an integrated electronic unit for automatic tracking and temperate control.

The institute seeks commercial agreements with technical assistance with interested companies willing to implement the innovative method and fuel cell in their testing procedures, receiving know-how from the institute.
