The inventors are interested in a development cooperation and / or a commercialization of the invention under a license agreement.

Extensive data security is a topic that has been recently covered with great attention in the media as well as in several political debates. The damage caused by IT security issues and industrial espionage in Germany alone amounts to an annual 50 billion euros.
These damages support the need for systems to improve the security of digital message transmission for companies, scientific institutions, authorities and individuals.

Idea and method:

According to the Innovation, the described problems can be solved by the use of an asymmetrical encryption method (RSA). Therefore, the public key of the email recipient is used, so that the message can only be opened and read with the help of the recipient´s private key.
Additionally, system subscribers have to register at a corresponding IT-infrastructure in order to be able to send messages securely.

The method according to the invention for the secure sending of e-mail messages is based on the exchange of so-called MX-Records (mail exchange records).
With the invention, the public key is supposed to be checked and verified with the help of an extended MXK-Record (Mail-Exchange-Key) in addition to the previously known MX-Records. The generation of a public and private key can be done by itself or by a central it service. The keys need only to be digitally signed by a authorized service provider.
The provider has nothing to do with the generation of the keys. By avoiding third parties in the process, the invention is a very convenient and secure encryption method for e-mail messages.
The technology could even be transferred to secure phone calls or SMS transmission with a few changes, in order to secure mobile phone communication against espionage.

The inventors are interested in a development and / or a commercialization of the invention under a license agreement or research cooperation agreement, to be able to ensure a transfer of the invention into the commercial use or the further development to its full technological potential.
