Se trata de un modelo físico portátil de un sistema térmico de parámetros distribuidos (DPS) para la simulación física del funcionamiento de campos de temperatura. Este sistema puede aplicarse fácilmente en investigación y pruebas de algoritmos de control avanzado para sistemas de parámetros distribuidos antes de su implementación en procesos industriales reales. El sistema también está indicado para realizar prácticas en cursos de análisis y diseño de sistemas de control automático. La universidad busca socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia.

An established Slovak university has developed a new aerothermal system. It is a portable physical model of a thermal distributed parameter system (DPS) suitable for physical simulation of operating of temperature fields, which can be easily applied in the research and testing of advanced control algorithms for DPSs before their implementation on real industrial processes. They are looking for partners to cooperate via licence agreement.
Description:
Aerothermal System is a portable physical model of a thermal distributed parameter system (DPS) suitable for physical simulation of operating of temperature fields. It can be applied in the research and testing of advanced control algorithms for DPSs before their implementation on real industrial processes. The system also supports practical education in courses on automatic control systems analysis and design. Key features include the ability to simulate multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) systems and one class of thermal DPSs. A number of steps must be undertaken before a control algorithm can be successfully applied to a real environment. The main benefit of the laboratory system can be expected in obtaining first practical experiences with created control algorithms and in shortening the test phase before their implementation to a real industrial process. This technology could be therefore easily applicable in industrial areas.

A thermal DPS is for taking thermal inputs such as temperature from room one to circa 120 Celsius degrees. The output allows a user to verify the concept of operation of temperature fields prepared to be implemented in a real object. The ability to verify the concept beforehand in a model conditions of maintaining of temperature fields for a real object creates the opportunity to design an energy-effective solution.

The university is looking for partners to cooperate with via license agreement. They are looking for partner, who could adapt this technology into the praxis. The final users of this technology are e.g. the manufacturing plants or companies which are instaling the systems for plants/herbs. Instead of academic sector, the user of this technology could be e.g. development companies dealing with the design of thermal objects and processes, where the abidance of prescribed temperature profile is needed.
Advantages and Innovations:
It enables first experiences to be gained with tuning of the algorithms parameters. In addition, it helps to overcome the drawbacks of the non-sensitivity of mathematical theories to many practical control problems, and supports their solutions. The system reduces costs planned for experiments with real industrial processes and permits testing of the algorithms in various marginal situations.
Lastly, the ability to verify the concept beforehand in a model conditions creates the opportunity to design very energy-effective solution.
