The Company from the North-East of Italy, part of a Multinational Group, is focused on innovative green technological solutions in the water treatment sector and dehydration processes.
The proposed system aims to revolutionize the market of sludge treatment, thanks to its innovative system able to reduce up to 95% the volume of sludge. In fact, thanks to the developed technology, sewage sludge is dried through an accelerated process and then combusted, producing only ash.
The System cuts the electrical and fossil fuels costs and CO2 emissions, because the whole system is powered only by renewable energies. The proposed technology is an innovative system for drying biological sludge from WWTPs, designed as a combination of a traditional sludge oven and a solar greenhouse dryer, with low thermal and electric energy consumption. Currently, all water-treatment plants use specialised equipment to extract water from the sludge, but only few of them have drying systems that can obtain a dry matter -DM- of 85-90%.
The company is looking for wastewater treatment companies and other organizations interested to adopt the technology through commercial agreement with technical assistance for optimising it to the specific application process or technology cooperation for new developments or further applications.
Advantages and Innovations:
The company, thanks to its know-how in the fields of thermo-fluid dynamics and mechanical engineering, has developed an innovative system based on the optimization of the sewage sludge drying process.
Main advantages over conventional solutions are:
- The system can burn dried sewage sludge, reducing the use of thermal and electrical energy.
- The dryer is dimensioned to be placed inside a naval container of 20 ft. (6 m).
- This solution allows that modules can be stacked, reducing the needed surface and meeting the different volume needs.
- The system treats around 1.000 ton/year of sewage sludge, with an initial cry matter 25%.
