A Spanish company specialized in the construction sector has developed an innovative system that allows the lightening of concrete slabs thus reducing the time of placement in field and the loads of aerial work and handling. The system eliminates most of the non-load bearing concrete and the steel that supports it, therefore reducing the deadweight of the building which discharges pillars and its foundation. They look for license, commercial with technical assistance and services agreements.
Description:
A Spanish company devoted to produce innovative construction materials and systems has developed a new one that allows the lightening of the building structures.

The significant experience of the company in the construction sector has been the key to develop and patent a product that is obtained from the mixture of recycled plastics.

The system is composed of a structural hollow body integrated in a mesh of 15x15 being arranged every 30 cm, allowing to lighten the solid slabs and maintaining the same initial resistance.

The assembly process is very simple (see the pictures attached): 1) Placement of the lower mesh and reinforcements, 2) stacking of abacuses and placement of the system, 3) placement of the upper mesh, 4) fixation of the system, 5) tying and upper reinforcement and 6) concreting.

The system has already been applied in more than 30 residential buildings, although it can be implemented in any other type of building. It is optimal in structures of great span and cantilevered also with irregular designs, optimal for works that have difficult access, ideal for buildings in height.

The company wants to find partners to establish the following collaborations:
- License agreement: transfer the rights of the patent or license for exploitation through agreements
- Commercial with technical assessment agreement: providing the required support to the licensee when using the offered technology.
- Services agreement: providing specific technological services to perform assistance when implementing the described technology.

Advantages and Innovations:
The main competitive advantage of this system is that it allows to reduce up to 80% the loads under the constructions and to ease their logistics, when compared to the traditional systems like the unidirectional slabs and reticular of concrete, always with solutions of flat bottom of concrete that allow savings in execution. The structural hollow body replaces around 30% of concrete in the light zone and over 20% of steel, so this allows great savings in foundations and pillars.

A monolithic similar to that of solid slab is achieved by working bidirectional with 30% less concrete in the lightened area, which means a significant reduction in the deadweight of the structural system and significantly reduces the seismic stresses on the building structure.

The economic benefits of the system are significant with respect to the traditional systems, although their quantification depends on the traditional system with which it is compared.
