La solución aísla la orina y las heces de la piel del niño, no produce irritaciones ni olores, es cómoda de llevar y más económica y ecológica que los pañales desechables actuales. La orina se descarga utilizando bombas de vacío. El inventor busca centros de I+D y universidades para continuar con el desarrollo del prototipo y obtener una solución con viabilidad comercial. El objetivo es establecer acuerdos de licencia, investigación o cooperación técnica.

The inventor seeks partnership with R-Y-D organisations and universities for further development of the prototype to a market viable solution under licensing, research or technical cooperation agreement.
Description:
Diapers have been used to contain the waste of infants, toddlers, and in some cases, other individuals who do not have control of their bladders and bowel movements. Diapers can be made of a reusable fibre such as cotton, and/or they can be made of disposable materials, such as a plastic and cotton combination. Disposable diapers are widely used and can be desirable because the diaper can be disposed of in the trash without having to handle or dispose of the waste separately. However, the disposable diapers can create strain on the environment as they are not typically readily degradable and chemicals used to make them can be harmful to the wearers. Also, they are more expensive as the related production technology requires more time and resources for processing. In contrast, reusable diapers can be desirable because of the reduced harmful environmental impact over disposable diapers, the ability to choose chemical-free materials, and the reduced overall cost due the fixed cost of buying fewer diapers and reusing them. Nevertheless, they are unpractical, very often irritate the skin, if not washed properly can cause diseases and be harmful for the wearer´s health.

The proposed solution aims to overcome these disadvantages by combining reusable and disposable parts into a new diapers design that isolates the urine and faeces from the wearer´s skin. This is achieved by connecting a reusable portable vacuum system with a urinary collector and faecal collector with disposable faecal bags.

The portable vacuum system represents the massive part of the diapers (97%). It has the standard form of a diaper and is divided in few ´pillow´ like sectors. These pillows contain several anatomic flexible pipes assisted by some small expansive elements (diaphragm and plastic spring) and can absorb and accumulate one urinating process. This system is multiuser and it is calculated that an infant will consume just 3-4 pieces during its growth (to cover the different weight ranges 3-8kg, 8-15kg, >15kg). Every pillow is connected with the urinary collector that represents the ´intelligent part´ of the diaper. Once urine enters the collector, respective expansive pillow is being opened and after the process is completed (2-3 minutes) it is ready for the next urinating process. The faecal collector consists of an insulating mechanism and a faecal bag. When the diaper is placed on the wearer, the insulating mechanism is position around the anus, isolating it and providing controlled defecation of the faeces.

The deposited urine is discharged from the system by using the vacuum pumps and thrown in the toilet. After the removal of the urine from the system, the new forces of expansion are getting activated and the portable vacuum system is ready for use. The faecal bags are made of two biodegradable layers and after use can be disposed directly into the toilet sewer.

The inventor has already prototyped the system consisted of 4 pillows with a capacity 4 x 150ml. The undertaken experiments and prototyping have proved that air, in fact the negative pressure (vacuum) of the air, can successfully replace absorbing components of the diapers like pulp, high adhesive granulate etc. For completion and realisation of this innovative design, the Macedonian inventor needs collaboration with R-Y-D organisations or universities in order to further develop the design into a commercially viable solution. To achieve this, the inventor is open for different types of partnerships, from technical cooperation for joint further development, through project collaboration, up to licensing out the proposed solution. Depending on the cooperation potentials, both exclusive and non-exclusive licensing can be considered. Thus, the inventor is mainly interested in IP valorisation that will be potentially beneficial for the both parties.
