Description:
¿ Greek SME has developed a software solution for the integrated assessment of large-scale retrofitting measures concerning the urban building stock. At the current stage of development the tool has the capacity to determine retrofitting measures in entire cities, districts or even in a building-unit scale. The tool has already been applied on two Greek Municipalities, regarding the assessment and design of the most feasible retrofitting measures in terms of environmental, energy and economic aspects, as well as on numerous public, commercial and private buildings.
The SME is currently seeking collaborators, potential clients and stakeholders so as to develop this tool into a fully atomized, stand-alone software that will be launched in the next couple of years. The aim is to release a software that will offer, for the first time, several technologies (dynamic energy simulation tool, GIS, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and economic feasibility study as well as advanced building stock analysis) under a unified framework, in order to better assess retrofitting measures for the urban building stock.

- There is no need to engage numerous consultants and use several software tools for each possible retrofitting scenario, thus money and time are saved for the user
- Limitations arising from dispersed assessment technologies can be mitigated.
- Easy to use tool.
- Holistic assessment taking into account all building related aspects (climatic conditions, building system, shading from external factors, typological features of the building, thermal comfort, latest energy efficiency building technologies, integration of RES).
- The results can be instantly monitored through graphical mapping.
