Un instituto de I+D polaco ha desarrollado un nuevo vehículo de oruga para revisión de cables de retención y transporte especial con cables. La oferta incluye documentación técnica, el prototipo probado y el conocimiento del equipo de científicos. Este vehículo se emplea en revisión de cables de retención de soportes de radio y televisión, cables que estabilizan otros tipos de estructuras (chimeneas, puentes, etc.), líneas eléctricas, organización de transporte en terrenos difíciles (plantaciones de fruta, bosques, desfiladeros, fiordos, etc.) o transporte realizado por servicios especiales (ejército, policía y brigadas contra incendios). El instituto busca socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos comerciales con asistencia técnica.


The innovative tracked vehicle for servicing retaining ropes and the specialist cable-supported transport
R-Y-D institute from the south-west of Poland has developed and offers an innovative tracked vehicle for servicing retaining ropes and the specialist cable-supported transport. The subject of the technological offer is the technical documentation, tested prototype and the knowledge of the team of scientists. Institute offers a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
A developed vehicle can be used, among others for: servicing retaining ropes of radio and television masts, ropes stabilizing other high constructions (chimneys, bridges etc.), electricity lines, organization of transport in difficult terrain (fruit plantations, forests, canyons, fjords, etc.) or for the transport performed by specialist services (army, police, fire brigade).
The conducted analysis showed that the invention does not have an equivalent on the market for commercial use and its applica-tion may significantly facilitate and accelerate service processes of steel and synthetic retaining ropes.
The described tracked vehicle has the ability to climb on various undamaged steel and synthetic ropes of a permanent diameter and is able to transport two control and service devices at the same time, such as for example: magnetic head, TV cameras, devices for removal and application of preservative grease. Due to the original, innovative solution of the chassis with special elastomer tracks, it was possible to obtain the feedback with a rope that is several times higher compared to other known solutions in this field. In consequence, the vehicle has the possibility to drive into the ropes inclined up to 70O, covered with grease without the risk of damaging them - what is presently not offered by competitive solutions. A very crucial increase of the traction force has been obtained additionally due to using the original solution ensuring an adaptive pressure on rubber elements of the segments of the track to the draw wire as well as using the all-wheel drive. Four motors with permanent BL DC magnets and the power of 0.5 kW each were used as the sources of energy of the drive system and additionally gears of the shift i=32. Powering motors takes place by means of batteries or with the current form the electricity network.

· length ca. 1100mm,
· width ca. 500mm,
· height ca. 400mm,
· weight (of the tractor itself) ca. 60kg,
· movement speed about 1m/s,
· possibility of the movement on the ropes of a diameter of 16-60mm,
· inclination angle of ropes on which the vehicle can move 0-70O,
· the transmission range of the transmitter while using the remote control 300m,
· possibility of steering/control with the use of a cable,
· working time on fully charged battery 30-120min,
· possibility of charging from the electricity network 230V,
· the number of persons needed to operate (put on the rope) 2 persons, one person is needed for the operation of the vehicle which is moving on the rope,
· a towing capacity about 100kg.

Institute offers a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Advantages and Innovations:
The main element of innovation of the invention consists in the possibility to use the vehicle which is moving on its own (remotely controlled by an operator) on rods of a various thickness, inclined at a different angle and made of various material in order to carry out different works.
The crucial competitive advantages can be specified as follows:
· A substantial improvement of the service process of retaining ropes in comparison to currently used methods. There is no need to reach the construction in order to install the system of retraction of service devices. The vehicle is assembled at the bottom, right on the rope.
· The vehicle is autonomous, which means it is remotely controlled by the operator who is not directly involved in the
performed work. Due to this fact, the working comfort and safety of the service staff is increased.
· The vehicle can take part in tasks where the life and health of the personnel staff could be threatened (high buildings, electricity lines, harsh terrain).
· The modularity of the vehicle which allows for attaching different devices to it which can be necessary to carry out for ex-ample services or transportation at a given moment (magnetic heads, lubricating heads, inspection cameras, transport carts etc.).
· Facilitation or even enabling the transport in heavy terrain conditions.
