Los nuevos materiales tienen el mismo volumen y masa que las esferas empleadas actualmente y tienen una forma de tetraedro esferoidal. El proceso de esmerilado ofrece mayor rendimiento debido a la forma única de los materiales, siendo la densidad también mayor. La empresa busca universidades y centros de I+D con el fin de establecer acuerdos de investigación, así como empresas de las industrias de minería y cemento para probar el prototipo en campo y establecer acuerdos de cooperación técnica.

A Bulgarian SME has developed innovative grinding bodies applicable for raw materials and waste (including ore, coal and clinker). The company is seeking to reach research cooperation agreements with universities and R-Y-D institutions and technical cooperation agreements with interested companies from the mining and cement industries in order to field test the prototype.
Description:
The Bulgarian SME has long-term experience in the research and development of various innovative engineering solutions. The company has been awarded for being innovative several times on national and international level.

Grinding is one of the essential processes in the mining industry. The main target / purpose for is to reduce the size of the ore, coal clinker (and other raw materials) particles before subjecting it to reagents (chemical reactions) or other technological processes.
Because of the scale of the processes efficiency may give a serious competitive advantage to a company.

The innovative bodies have the same volume and mass, as currently used spheres. They have a near spheroidal tetrahedron shape. This body is composed of 4 parts of spheres, having about 2.1 times larger radius then the radius of spheres of equal volume. Thus, the new milling body has 9.4% greater outer surface compared to a sphere of equal mass and volume. The larger outer surface results in more efficient grinding / milling. The four spherical areas form 6 curved edges and 4 vertices (tetrahedral geometry). These edges and vertices increase the productivity of fragmentation of larger particles by at least 100%. This is because of the combined milling body - 4 grinding spherical surfaces and 10 breaking elements - 6 edges and 4 vertices (tetrahedral geometry). Breaking of larger chunks by spherical surfaces (up to now) damage those surfaces sooner, which requires more frequent replenishment. The new grinding body with edges and vertices ensure a new higher level of the ball mill processing.

The company is seeking to reach research cooperation agreements and technical cooperation agreements with interested companies from the mining and cement industries to field test the prototype and with universities and R-Y-D institutions for joint collaboration and testing of new applications.
Advantages and Innovations:
- high performance milling because of the unique form of the bodies;
- in comparison with the spherical grinding bodies a greater density is obtained retaining the same volume (a 15 to 17% greater number of bodies would occupy the same volume) - higher density of stacking is another factor for increased productivity;
- 65% more hardened mass in comparison with spherical bodies;
- less investment in new equipment and time in comparison with known methods for increasing productivity of grinding.
