The SME is looking for a technological co-operation to further develop the technology as well as for a manufacturing agreement.

Today it is still a challenge to make photovoltaic modules more efficient and safer.
Therefore, a German SME has put their focus on the development of power optimizers for the photovoltaic market that increase the energy yield of modules.
The newly developed electronics is only working when needed. The long-life electronic circuits, specially developed for this application, lead to less strain on the power stage parts and thus to an increase of lifetime of the complete system.
The power optimizers can be upgraded as add-on or integrated into the module.
Potential customers are OEM, manufacturers of modules, inverters and systems.
The German SME is looking for a technology co-operation and a manufacturing agreement, whereas further technological development is the main focus. Therefore they are looking for industrial partners with experience and know-how in electronic circuits as well as for manufacturers of modules for the integration of the electronics in the corporate application.
Advantages and Innovations:
The SME has developed a power optimizer for PV modules which can be adapted to customer specific needs. It can be upgraded to single modules without communication. It activates itself automatically at shading or heavy contamination and compensates the mismatch.
As the optimizer is only activated during an existing mismatch, the lifetime will be increased due to significantly reduced operating loss. Additionally, the energy yield is higher as most of the loss is produced in active condition. When there is no mismatch, the optimizer is inactive and no switching losses occur.
Also, the risk of hot spots can be reduced significantly and thus improve the lifetime of the modules.
Moreover, the company is developing an optimizer that enables the optimization of modules also on substring level. So, it is possible to avoid an internal cell mismatch and to maximize the energy yield of the module.
