An Italian research oriented company has developed a professional software suite for automatic control design.
The software package represents an innovative approach for automatic controls design in several fields (e.g. robotics, aerospace, automotive, machine tools, special purpose machines...). It supports industrial processes automation through powerful tools for plants modelling and embedded control system architectures designing and testing. The software suite assists the design process in all phases:
- from system concept to code generation to be transferred to the final target
- driving the user step-by-step and offering a specific professional support for the following three work phases:
· modelling and like real-time simulation;
· rapid control prototyping;
· code generation for the final target, hardware-in-the-loop and final validation tests
automatic algorithm -Y- code generation, multi-processor architectures management and multi-level hierarchical controls, rapid control prototyping and hardware in the loop are part of the overall capabilities offered by this software suite, in which all tools are at the designer´s disposal in a fully integrated way.
The software package enables to improve the performance control combined with a reduction of time-to-market, with tangible advantages in terms of costs/benefits. Furthermore, it already includes the possibility to apply a control design methodology (supported by strong theoretical fundamentals) that offers guaranteed performance without the need of an experimental in field set-up.

Advantages and Innovations:
- No need for deep Maths knowledge
The software suite is easy to use and does not require specific know-how in Maths. Thanks to the support offered by the suite, the designer is allowed to focus on the project engineering aspects, like sensor and actuator selection, system architecture design, etc. For instance, the "Automatic Algorithm Generation" key feature is especially conceived to automatically generate algorithms and software based on user requirements.
- Minimise the time needed to develop the control algorithm
