Un centro tecnológico español especializado en investigación aplicada y desarrollo y promoción de energías renovables ofrece una planta piloto de biorrefinería a start-ups de base biológica y otras organizaciones interesadas en validar sus procesos bioquímicos, biológicos o biotérmicos a gran escala o en obtener grandes cantidades de biomateriales y evitar una alta inversión en infraestructuras nuevas. El centro tecnológico busca empresas con el fin de establecer acuerdos comerciales con asistencia técnica, así como universidades para firmar acuerdos de cooperación técnica.

Summary:
Spanish technology centre specialised in applied research and in the development and promotion of renewable energies offers its biorefinery demo plant to new bio-based start-ups and other organizations interested in validating their bioprocesses at large scale and/or interested in obtaining large amount of biomaterials, avoiding a high investment in infrastructures. They are looking for companies for commercial agreements with assistance, or universities for technical or research cooperation.
Description:
Experimental facilities include Pretreatment Unit (Chipping; Chopping; Drier; Milling; Torrefaction; Pelletezing), Gasification Unit (2MWt) and Vessels (including Enzymatic Hydrolysis and Bioreactors up to 6 m3).

1. Physical Pre-Treatment Unit. Processing capacity equal to 500 Kg/h of feeding material (any kind of biomass, including those from municipal solid waste origin or other alternative resources). Pretreatment unit includes: Chipping and Chopping; Drier; Milling; Torrefaction; Pelletizing.

2. Gasification Unit (bubbling fluidized bed reactor) of 2MWt nominal power. It is designed to work under different operating conditions (including mixtures of steam/air/oxygen as gasifying agent) and is able to process a wide range of materials (such as organic wastes, herbaceous materials, etc.)

3. Bio-Chemical Process Unit. Main equipment includes 2 vessels for enzymatic hydrolysis of 3 m3 volume each and 3 bioreactors, of 1, 3 and 6 m3 nominal capacity. The unit offers flexibility in terms of feedstock, process configuration and operation conditions in order to allow the execution of tests focused on obtaining biofuels and/or different bioproducts.

The centre is looking for companies that want to use the biorefinery plant, being supported by their technicians.
It´s possible too the cooperation with researches from universities in order to create new projects of research or technical cooperation.
