The company worked on Cloud-based data analysis services by designing and developing a system that exploits Cloud facilities to provide scalable services for analyzing large datasets. The system allows users to import their data to the Cloud, extract knowledge models using high performance data mining services and use the inferred knowledge to predict new data. The system provides data classification and regression services that can be used in a variety of scientific and business applications. Significant application domains where the proposed data analysis solutions can bring significant benefits and competitive advantages are retailing, online advertising social media marketing and customer profiling. For example, an interesting application of the technology involved the prediction of delays based on the flight information (airport of origin, destination airport, the time and date of departure, time and date of arrival), weather forecasting airport departure and destination, the timetable envisaged by the flight table. Based on these data, the algorithm has built ("learned") a flight delay model to predict with high accuracy the possible delays of any set of flight if it knowna weather conditions (or these are expected).
