Un profesor turco ha desarrollado un proceso de preparación de composites de poliuretano de grado médico que contienen zeolita antibacteriana. Esta tecnología permite sintetizar micro y nanozeolitas que contienen iones de plata en su estructura. Las zeolitas se añaden a los polímeros para preparar composites en forma de polvo, película o a granel con propiedades antibacterianas. Los composites encuentran aplicación en distintos sectores: textil, pinturas, revestimientos de metales, cerámicas o madera, revestimientos de productos empleados en espacios públicos, bienes de consumo, medicina y automoción. Se buscan socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos comerciales con asistencia técnica.

Description:
A Turkish academician invented a process for preparation of medical grade polyurethane composites containing antibacterial zeolite.

This invention is related to the preparation processes and the products of polymeric composites containing anti-bacterial properties. The composites were prepared from the medical grade polyurethanes and silver ion containing zeolites which the synthesis procedures of both are also included in this invention.

Antibacterial properties were included with addition of silver ions into zeolite particles. Medical grade polyurethanes were synthesized from their components in the presence of no other additives and produced in various forms as films sponges or fibers. Composites were formed with combination of these two components. Depending on the chemistry of their recipes, the composites prepared may be water soluble or resistant.

Such composites can be used in a wide variety of applications and sectors as follows:

* Textiles sector,
* Paint industry,
* Coating material for metals,
* Ceramics or wood,
* Coatings for items used in public places,
* Consumer goods,
* Health sector,
* Automotive sector


Some examples for coating could be listed as escalators, shopping car holders, elevator buttons, steering wheels or stick shifts in cars, keyboards, paper industry,household hygiene items, telephones, mobile phones, tablets, toilets, cosmetics, hospital floors, beds and stretchers.

The invention could be used in a variety of sectors from textile to other consumer goods, from hospitals to automobiles etc.
