La carbonización hidrotermal es un proceso de conversión termoquímica que utiliza agua como medio de reacción para convertir sacáridos en materiales carbonáceos con un valor añadido. El biocarbón sintetizado tiene un tamaño nanométrico (500 nm). Se buscan socios interesados en utilizar esta nueva tecnología, así como inversores para su comercialización.

Description:
Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a thermochemical conversion technique which uses water as a reaction medium for conversion of saccharides to value-added carbonaceous materials. According to di¿erent experimental conditions and reaction mechanism, two HTC processes can be classi¿ed: low temperature HTC (up to 250 °C) and high temperature HTC (between 300 and 800 °C). Low temperature HTC is a mild condition, environmentally friendly one-step process through which it is possible to obtain various carbonaceous materials. Low temperature HTC is presumably close to natural coali¿cation and that acting the hundred million years process in contrast with high speed and short time reactions.Among the potential saccharides that can be employed to produce carbonaceous materials through hydrothermal carbonization, glucose is the most promising material but little attention has been paid to waste real biomasses. The higher heating value of the obtained biochar from olive oil residue and hazel nut shell as feedstock is between 5300-6600 kcal/kg. The sulphur content of the biochars is under the acceptable limits (max. % 0.31). The thermal stability of biochars is similar to lignite. Detailed instructions of the process and characterization can be provided. This technology is suitable for waste biomass to convert useful environmentally friendly biochar. The academic offers sustainable renewable energy with this technology.
