UK-based SME offers its mental health care pathway service to clinicians
Summary:
A UK-based SME has developed a care pathway for mental health combining evidence-based therapeutic interventions with the latest digital solutions in a secure, user friendly web-based environment. The SME is offering this pathway to clinicians operating in the mental health space for use with their patients. The partnership is envisaged as a services agreement or a technical cooperation agreement with the partner providing feedback for further development to the SME as part of the partnership.
Description:
With one in four people diagnosed with a mental illness at some stage during their lifetime access to mental health provision is important to the overall well being of a large proportion of the population. While patients can access one to one therapy the continuation of progress beyond this stage of treatment is important and has historically proved to be difficult leading to relapses in some cases.

A UK-based SME has developed a care pathway that combines evidence-based therapeutic interventions with the latest digital solutions in a secure, user friendly web-based environment. It uses a blended approach where therapeutic interventions are supported by online tools and clinical content. This provides a holistic and transdiagnostic perspective and has a modular format that makes for a versatile and efficient applicability.

The SME is looking to partner with clinicians to offer this pathway for use in their clinics. As part of the partnership the SME would like to receive feedback from the clinicians to further develop and adapt the pathway to meet clinical needs. It is envisaged that the partnership would take the form of a services agreement or a technical cooperation agreement.
Advantages and Innovations:
The UK SME´s pathway has the following advantages:

(1) it is highly dynamic and flexible - it has the capacity to present therapeutic content in more ways than usual in a traditional face to face contact. By integrating online appliances into treatment the therapist can add more opportunities for learning and recovery to the treatment programme.

(2) it allows for monitoring the therapy process and outcomes by the therapist, and strengthens continuity of treatment because the eHealth content can be approached by the service user whenever necessary.

(3) it empowers service users to self-help and help of their social support groups. Service users have access to the therapeutic tools whenever necessary and can share these with their social support group.
