Una facultad croata del sector de química ha desarrollado un sensor basado en el uso de potenciometría directa como metodología de detección. El sensor puede aplicarse para detectar tensioactivos iónicos en productos industriales, domésticos y cosméticos. Las principales ventajas incluyen el ahorro de productos químicos, la reducción de residuos y tiempo de análisis, el funcionamiento sencillo y la reducción de los costes para realizar el análisis. La facultad está abierta a distintos tipos de colaboración, como acuerdos de licencia y cooperación técnica.

A Croatian faculty in the field of chemistry developed a sensor based on the use of direct potentiometry as a detection methodology. The sensor can be applied for determination of ionic surfactants in industrial, household and cosmetic products. The main advantages are chemical saving, reduced waste amount and reduced analysis time, ease of operation, lower analysis costs. The faculty is open to different forms of cooperation such as licence agreement and technical cooperation agreement.
Description:
The Faculty from East Croatia in the field of chemistry developed the highly sensitive surfactant sensor for determination of ionic surfactants in household and cosmetic products, or for monitoring of surfactants in industrial effluents.
This technique is based on the use of direct potentiometry by measuring electromotive force of a potentiometric cell consisting of an indicating electrode (potentiometric sensor) and a reference electrode. The potentiometric surfactant sensor can be used as the end point detector in potentiometric surfactant titrations or for direct determination of surfactants in flow injection potentiometry. The advantages over conventional time-consuming methodologies are: chemicals saving, reduced waste amount, reduced analysis time, ease of operation, lower analysis costs.
The Croatian Faculty is looking for technical cooperation agreement and licensing agreement in order to share technology skills for further development. The offer comprises the construction of a high sensitive potentiometric ionic surfactant sensor.
Advantages and Innovations:
The conventional methodologies have disadvantages such as time-consuming procedure, use and disposal of toxic organic solvents, inability of determination in coloured samples, considerable chemicals consumption. The sensor developed by Croatian Faculty overcomes these drawbacks. Also, the sensing element used in the construction provides a high sensitivity, which enables the determination even of shorter hydrocarbon chain surfactants, usually heavily determined using conventional sensors.
