Una unidad de I+D polaca con amplia experiencia en telecomunicaciones inalámbricas ha desarrollado un sistema de comunicación entre un módem USB y el puerto WAN RJ-45 del router. Este sistema permite compartir la conexión a internet con el puerto WAN con conector RJ-45 utilizando un módem inalámbrico con conector USB. La tecnología se encuentra en fase de pruebas. Se buscan socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos de cooperación técnica e investigación para continuar con el desarrollo y establecer acuerdos de licencia.

Summary:
An R-Y-D unit from North-East Poland with wide experience in the field of wireless telecommunications has developed a system for communication between USB modem and router´s RJ-45 WAN port that enables Internet connection sharing to router with WAN port with RJ-45 plug using wireless Internet modem with USB plug. The invention is currently under laboratory tests. The R-Y-D unit is looking for research and technical cooperation for further joint development or licensing agreement.
Description:
The Polish research and development unit actively operating in the field of wireless communications has developed a new way of communication between USB modem and router.
The described invention solves problem of incompatibility of USB modem to the router without USB port. There is already known a devise for development of mobile phone modem, by which data transfer can be easily established, using data transfer services in mobile networks. This allows the user to easily obtain settings of data transfer services, without requiring deep knowledge of the issues related to data transmission services and mobile phone network functions. However, there are also routers having in its specification USB port, which allows maintenance and getting connection from the service provider from wireless Internet USB modem. This could be a problem for already existing devices but not for the one offered. The invention also allows the use of a simple home router to get Internet connection via wireless Internet modem and sharing this connection in home network.
The R-Y-D unit is interested in establishing the cooperation in the form of licence agreement in order to implement the idea in telecommunications sector. The R-Y-D unit would also like to establish a long term research or technical cooperation in case of the possibility of the know-how improvement or development.
Advantages and Innovations:
The innovation lies in the development of a technology that enables Internet connection from a USB modem to a router which doesn´t have a USB port in its specification. Thanks to this, it is possible to use simple home router in order to get Internet connection which is not offered by existing products.
