A Bulgarian SME with extensive experience in the design and fabrication of novel high-frequency electronic systems and systems with embedded control and microwave-based sensors has developed a system for automatic wireless domestic and industrial water and gas meter reading. The system is optimised for simultaneous reading of all meters in large apartment blocks. The company is looking for technical agreements with partners from the industry for adaptation to particular needs.
Description:
The company has broad experience in the R-Y-D of innovative products and systems, including hardware, firmware and software, in the field of microwave and sensor technology and wireless communication. It also has long-term experience in successful international projects.

The automatic reading of water and gas meters faces specific difficulties because of the positioning. Such devices are very often situated in places with difficult access. The meters are generally very few - one or two per apartment, - but can reach a high number in large condominiums.

The novel system solves those problems by re-translating the data through neighbouring meters using ad-hoc networking to a single data concentrator, which can be accessed on site or via internet. The innovative meter station records and manages the meter readings. The data from different premises are converted into radio frequency signals as the system re-transmits the data between every device to the single data station. The base station may perform as an analytic system of a needed type.

The SME seeks technical cooperation agreements with companies in the utility sector for large scale manufacturing and marketing.
