Description:
Research and development of human-machine interfaces based on image identification and visual presentation of multimedia information is today one of main directions in the development of mathematical support (math ware) and software. The gestures are particularly promising for constructing control interfaces for computer software and hardware, robots, etc., since they allow extending the interfaces capacity for people with hearing and speech defects.
The Russian company has developed an effective system of machine vision to identify human gestures. The system consists of 3D scanner and special software designed to work with the received three-dimensional image. 3D scanner is a device for making depth maps. The software is designed for processing depth maps coming from 3D scanner, in order to identify and isolate the moving objects (image segmentation) and to recognise human body parts (skeletonization). The software is capable to work with all depth sensors that support the OpenNI standard, as well as optimized to run on Android operating system devices. The system has a user-friendly interface, easy for understanding.
