Una universidad eslovaca ofrece un nuevo sistema de recuperación de calor en hornos de fundición que aumenta la eficiencia industrial y reduce el consumo de energía y las emisiones de CO2. A diferencia de la mayoría de intercambiadores de calor comerciales, este sistema también puede emplearse en la industria pesada (metalurgia). El prototipo del sistema lleva funcionando más de 5 años en una empresa eslovaca. El ahorro energético y rentabilidad económica son cuantificables y verificables. La universidad busca socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia, cooperación técnica o financiación.

A reputable technical university from Slovakia offers an innovative heat recuperation system that enables effective heat recovery from smelting furnaces. As a result, higher industrial efficiency and lower energy consumption and CO2 emission is ensured. Unlike most of the commercially produced heat exchangers, it is also usable in the heavy metallurgical industry. The university is looking for partners through licensing agreement, technical cooperation agreement or financial agreement.
Description:
Recuperation or heat recovery is a process in which waste heat is transformed into heating of water, or production of steam. Recovery of the waste heat produced by industrial processes is one of the best ways to lower energy consumption and eliminate CO2 emission in the industry. Most of the currently used recuperators are due to the aggressive environment and high adhesiveness of flue waste not suitable for metallurgical industry. The introduced system has properties that predetermine it for effective use even in the most challenging conditions. The construction is based on two functional parts:
· Heat exchanger from flue gas to air, connected to natural gas burner
· Heat exchanger from flue gas to water, connected to service water heater

The design of heat exchangers enables undemanding maintenance and cleaning from flue sediments. Parts corroded by the direct exposure to flue gas can be easily replaced. Prototype of the system is more than 5 years in function for an industrial company in Slovak Republic. Energy savings and financial return is measurable and verifiable.

The university is looking for technology transfer with industrial companies. Preferred cooperation types are licensing agreement, technical cooperation agreement or financial agreement. These types of cooperation were chosen because they fit today´s needs of this university in a very best way.
