Description:
The Spanish inventor, with significant experience in the manufacture of covering systems, has developed and patented an innovative optimized foldable motorized covering system for roof openings, open volumes and non-horizontal infrastructure openings.

Nowadays, building openings (like roofs, skylights or non-horizontal openings) and construction gaps are not covered in an optimized way by covering systems since the opening in the building infrastructure is substantially obstructed by the covering mechanism itself (only up to 60% of the total opening remains free with current covering systems). Moreover, the width of the covering segments or sheets is currently limited to less than 2 meters so opening remains partially obstructed (visually -Y- physically) by crossbeams. That can also jeopardize safety in emergency rescue situations. Finally, currents covering system mechanisms work by sliding of moving parts on fixed parts. Since sliding causes friction operational noises of current covering systems are considerable and friction areas tend to deteriorate.

The invention relates to an assembly consisting of base tracks inside which a drag chain moves and in the bottom part of which the tracks for the sheets, in the form of a "J", are attached along the entire length thereof, inside of which tracks the bearings of the guide shoes, which serve to guide the sheets as they move and fold, are housed. Drag tracks are provided on the upper part of the body of the base track, forming a "C" inside which a drag piece, on which the drag shaft is threaded, is housed and moves a tube soldered to the drag track being attached to the upper part of said drag shaft, providing the seat for angle as a drip stopper and some neoprene bands. The lateral part of the track serves as a wall for channeling water.

Thanks to its innovative design, this new covering system:

- Unfolds/folds the sheets as they slide to covered/uncovered,
- Minimizes the hampered surface of the roof, skylights or wall openings by the mechanism itself,
- Maximizes the size of the covering segments or sheets whilst reducing supporting infrastructure,
- Reduces friction and therefore operation noise during the motion of the covering segments,
- Maximizes duration of mechanical parts,
- Facilitates maintenance of facilities

This optimized foldable motorized covering system can be used for covering roof openings, open volumes and non-horizontal infrastructure openings (e.eg: skylights) in buildings, open air courts, infrastructure gaps, restaurants, hotels, emergency exits, swimming pools, schools, meeting rooms, gyms, public places, etc.

This optimized foldable motorized covering system has being:

- Optimized to cover various application scenarios (different sizes, tilt positions, materials, emergency accessibility situations...),
- Combined with other sensor solutions like: smoke and fire detection sensors, anemometers, temperature and light sensors, position sensors, obstacle detecting sensors, wireless application remote control...
- tested to fold in different hemispheres related to the drag chain line,

The inventor wishes to profit from this patent by transferring the rights to a licensee. Consequently, the inventor offers license agreements.
