Details

Tittle:
Highly innovative knowledge management software that creates knowledge profiles fully-automated
Summary:
A German start-up company, is looking for a partner for the implementation of a knowledge management software that creates staff knowledge profiles fully-automated, in detail and in real time in order to identify and connect a company's entire knowledge. The aim is to adapt this software to the processes of the partner company as well as to adjust features during the pilot scheme. Industrial partners interested in technical cooperation to test the software are sought.
Description:
Knowledge is becoming the most important resource of our time and is the competitive factor number one in Europe. More and more knowledge is created every day while the half-life of knowledge is decreasing. Knowledge is distributed and dynamic and must be available at any place at any time. These changes challenge European companies to find an innovative way to deal with their knowledge. However, most companies do not know what they know. Internal experts and knowledge are not identified. This results in time-consuming and cost-intensive search processes and a profound weakening of the company's productivity.

Against this background, the German company developed a software that creates and connects knowledge profiles of employees - fully-automated, in real-time and in detail. Managers can use the software to assemble teams or to identify important knowledge of employees who are leaving the company. Employees are able to stand out as an expert or to look for an expert to get their questions answered. Based on the real-time profiles, the software always knows who to ask. All of this is possible without any manual effort and in unprecedented detail.

The company seeks industrial partners to implement and test the software within a technical co-operation.

The aim of the pilot scheme is to use the software under real conditions and to modify it with regard to the partner's feedback in order to achieve the maximum benefit for the partner. Furthermore, concepts and methods for implementation and measurement of the software can be discussed and tested. A use case (including ROI-measurements) should be developed at the end of the pilot scheme.

The project partner should aim to optimise their knowledge management, i.e. to find experts or to identify critical knowledge, and should operate in a skill-intensive industry.
In the focus of the software are white-collar workers who are operating with text (research, presentations, documentations etc.) and are using Microsoft Windows as operating system.

The software uses technologies to understand texts and can handle the German and English language at the moment. Further languages can be added upon request.
Advantages and Innovations:
In contrast to conventional software, knowledge profiles of employees are created fully automated, in detail and in real-time - without any manual effort. Until now, employees had to type in their field of expertise in a database and had to update it manually. As a result these databases are often outdated and without any use for the company. In conclusion static systems fail to manage knowledge in a dynamic environment.

The software uses an innovative approach to identify fields of knowledge fully automated. Based on this technology users only need one click to find and contact experts related to a keyword (free text search) or get questions answered.
