Description:
A French company created on 2013 focused on the creation of High Dynamic Range (HDR) content (pictures and videos). The idea came from a photographer co-founder of the company which develops a software, worldwide leader in the creation of HDR photographs.

They already developed and commercialised a product which create HDR images from an images sequence as a video. But today with the coming of new televisions containing 4K and HDR features, they focus their research and development on the creation of HDR videos from any standard videos. Since the invention of television, the quality of broadcasted images has always been the priority for the professionals. With the advent of the UHD (Ultra High Defintion) TV sets, they can now display 4K images. However, viewers expect a more realistic viewing experience: better pixels than an overdose of pixels. HDR (High dynamic range) technology is the solution.

The two most important factors in how a video looks are contrast ratio (how bright and dark the video is), and color accuracy, which makes colors resemble real life.
HDR expands the range of both contrast and color significantly.

The first HDR technologies don´t use the sequence context to maintain the coherence of the color of the same objects in the images. The technology developed by this company produce more accurate images by taking account of the context of the sequence.

The performance of this new technology allows to produce 4K HDR even if video bandwidth of 4K video is high.

In fact, 4K+HDR content offered to customers is rather poor. Their new patented technology allows an automatic transformation of standard videos (digitized argentic film, analog video, Standard Definition (SD), High Definition (HD), etc) into HDR videos compatible with the new market TV sets. The luminous dynamics of the creative movies has been increased by stacking and morphing.

They are looking for all TV broadcasters and production companies interested in testing and improving this tool, through a research or technical cooperation agreement.
