Description:
The Italian company is an innovative start-up included in the special registry of the Chamber of Commerce. It is composed by a team of 7 highly-skilled people and companies, useful for the development of active thermal insulation applications.
The company offers an innovative technology for the creation of the first warehouse kept at a constant temperature exclusively through renewable energy. The technology can be included into an industry for the process of ageing food or for logistic management. The temperature control system requires the construction of new generation walls and roofs by the partners of the prefabrication.
The technology is an active thermal insulation system, that allows the complete control of indoor temperature and enables a helpful use of renewable thermal energy (direct use of hydrothermal, geo-exchange, Thermal Energy Storage systems, solar radiation) and/or heat waste with an entirely innovative approach.
The technology integration can be completely invisible; tested in a pilot project in the industrially relevant field, it maintains the required conditions of constant temperature for 18 months confirming substantially exclusive use of renewable energy (renewable thermal energy consumption, in addition to electricity for 480 Wh/m² year; referring to the surface of the envelope), with high opportunities of global sustainability.
Partner sought for are prefabrication industries, service companies for geological activities and design for building in compliance with local regulations are sought; as well as industrial partners that host and use the warehouse in their processes.
The goal is to implement together with the partners technology cooperation activities and reach TRL8/9 to allow the group of interested partners to start a strong proposal on the market. Later, the technology will also be oriented to other larger markets.
Advantages and Innovations:
The proposed solution is an active thermal insulation technology developed with the aim at producing a new generation of prefabricated for the envelopes of environments with energy consumption close to zero.
The enclosure equipped with active thermal insulation technology allows the complete control of the temperature of the indoor environments and enables an advantageous use of renewable thermal energy (direct use of hydrothermal, geo-exchange, Thermal Energy Storage systems, solar radiation) and/or heat waste with an entirely innovative approach.
The energy cost of modern walls is between 10 and 30 times higher than experienced.
The system is proposed as an alternative to traditional air conditioning techniques and promises further multiple advantages. Also recalling that for controlled temperature environments currently lack other validated experiences, given the much more stringent need for temperature control through sustainable renewable energy systems. The positive experimentation and the models allow the company to foresee scenarios of high energy efficiency, as well as in the agri-food sector, also in many other sectors. An important advantage is that the wall can have a reduced thickness, around 100 mm.

The partners sought for are prefabrication industries, service companies for geological activities and design for building in compliance with local regulations are sought; as well as industrial partners that host and use the warehouse in their processes.
The company is interested also in new collaborations with industries that produce panels and facade coatings insulating concrete, metal, wood, polycarbonate and PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate).
The partners should create a consortium with the company, aiming at creating best practices of industrial warehouse built with prefabricated elements by means of research activities.
