Un instituto de investigación eslovaco ha desarrollado una nueva tecnología basada en el principio de degradación biológica-química de componentes individuales de lodos y su transformación posterior, lo que permite obtener nuevos productos de diferente calidad que se emplean en la industria: yeso, sulfato de aluminio y potasio y pigmento rojo. La tecnología permite transformar sustancias cuasi-coloidales en al menos tres productos aplicables industrialmente. El instituto busca socios con el fin de establecer acuerdos de licencia o comercialización con asistencia técnica.

Description:
The institute was established in 1954. The institute has a dominant position in Slovak Republic within the basic and applied research in the area of rock disintegration, mineral processing, mechanochemistry, mineral biotechnologies and environmental protection.

The developed technology is based on the principle of biological-chemical degradation of individual components of the slurry and the following transformation, which results in new qualitative different products utilised in the industry. The complex waste-less technology of sludge coming from the exploitation of alumina (the Bayer method) enables the transformation of originally quasi-colloid substances to at least three industrially utilisable products.
The technology according to the invention contains the operations of biological-chemical leaching. The biological degradation of the structure of individual components of the sludge runs in a combined leaching agent. The following transformation of the sludge into new qualitatively different products (gypsum, potassium aluminium sulphate and red pigment) utilises the auxiliary processes of filtration, drying, crystallisation, vaporisation, calcination and when needed, also the process of homogenised grinding.

The institute is looking for partners to cooperate with via license agreement or via commercial agreement with technical assistance. These two cooperation types were selected because they fit the needs of this institute regarding this technology in a very best way. The institute is looking for partners who could apply and use this technology.
