Un equipo de investigación alemán de una universidad técnica con experiencia en técnicas de alta tensión ha desarrollado una nueva tecnología de extracción de bajo consumo energético para materiales orgánicos basada en descarga eléctrica de gas. La alta tensión necesaria se genera mediante el acoplamiento magnético resonante de al menos dos circuitos eléctricos oscilantes. Su alta eficiencia ha sido demostrada en varios materiales orgánicos. La tecnología se ha utilizado en una planta de biogás para la extracción rápida de glucosa. Se buscan socios industriales e investigadores en los sectores de bioenergía y alimentación (productores de bioetanol, azúcar, aceites, almidón, especias, té, etc.) con el fin de establecer acuerdos de cooperación técnica.

Description:
A German research team of a Technical University with expertise in high-voltage techniques developed a novel low-energy extraction technology for organic materials based on electrical gas discharging.
A key issue for the utilization of organic materials is their disintegration and the associated release of valuable ingredients and compounds. Hence, an energy-efficient direct disruption of the surface and cells of organic materials is desired for a faster and more efficient extraction of the substances required. The novel technology includes the treatment of organic process material (like biomass) by low-energy electrical gas discharges produced by a special high-voltage electrode device, leading to a significant and sustained perforation of the cellular structures. The perforation of a leaf has illustrated that water rapidly evaporates via a multitude of micro holes in the destructed leaf's surface. The perforated leaf shrinks within a few minutes demonstrating a substantially accelerated dehydration. The picture below shows the visual result of the new rapid drying technology demonstrated with green leaves: untreated leaf (left) and treated leaf (right), both harvested at the same time.

The required high voltage is generated by the resonant magnetic coupling of at least two oscillating electrical circuits.

The high efficiency of the method has been demonstrated for various organic materials. As part of a biogas plant the technology was successfully adopted to green waste to allow rapid glucose extraction
