This UK business was set up in 2008 to develop the new concept of a solar thermal panel tracking (positioning) system.
The company CEO was already operating another successful business in the energy sector.

The system can be used for all the same applications as normal solar thermal panels, but in a wider range of locations
Solar tracking for PV panels is becoming established, but solar tracking for thermal panels is a relatively new technology with potentially more benefits.
Solar hot water collectors are used by more than 70 million households worldwide as well as in many schools, hospitals, hotels, government buildings and hospitals etc. There is also a trend to use solar resources to generate heat in large industry for cooling purposes.

The most prevalent form of evacuated tube system is those that utilise a sealed inner heating tube on a fixed system where the hot side of the heating tube can achieve temperatures significantly above ambient temperature. There can be problems with these systems, primarily over heating in very hot weather.
Overheating causes inefficiency and reliability issues. This tracking system moves the panels away from the sun at certain temperature and prevents high pressure build up and overheating.

A demonstration model has been produced with 12 months of data showing the efficiency improvements. These data results indicate a 46% improvement in efficiency over fixed panels with a 5 year financial payback.

The company seeks to establish an international network of licensed manufacturers and installers who can also offer maintenance of the system.

Long term partnerships with the right partners is envisaged.
Advantages and Innovations:
Reduced pressure in this system increase reliability. Roof mounted systems will over heat in very hot weather and the resultant high pressure can cause leaks and component failure. This tracking system moves away from the sun at certain temperatures and so prevents high pressure from overheating.

Overheating in fixed systems also causes fluid degradation. This system avoids that problem.

Pump failure can also cause overheating. If a pump fails this system will not allow the array to overheat (by re-positioning away from the sun).

The system can be programmed for any geographical location. The improved efficiency of this system makes it possible for solar thermal panels to become a primary domestic heating system

The system is calculated to have a 5 year payback period.

The system is scalable - it can be used for any size or scale of installation from domestic upwards.
