Una universidad letona ha desarrollado una tecnología de traslado mecánico de vacas desde la zona de preordeño hasta la sala de ordeño mediante el uso de una valla con dispositivo de conducción mecánica. Esta tecnología fácil de usar y rentable, indicada para granjas pequeñas, está equipada con un dispositivo de seguridad para prevenir posibles lesiones en los animales cuando se mueve la barrera a lo largo de las guías inferiores. La universidad busca fabricantes interesados en implementar la tecnología en productos finales y establecer acuerdos de licencia.

Description:
University from Latvia, involved in science of agriculture has developed an invention that pertains to farming, particularly to herding cows from pre-milking area to the milking-room. The device used for moving cows compared to similar inventions are more suitable for small scale farms and is more easy to use as well as cost effective. University is offering licensing agreement.
Advantages and Innovations:
The novelty consists of mechanical driving device that is arranged at the pre-milking area for driving cows to the milking place. A hurdle of mentioned device could move along the guides that are located on different height: during active working-time the hurdle moves along lower guide and pushes animals to the entry of milking-room by diminishing the area of pre-milking place occupied by cows; during return of such carriage to the point of beginning the hurdle moves along higher guide over the animals located in the milking-room. The movement of the hurdle from higher guide to the lower guide and on the contrary is powered by reverse of driving mechanism as well as by uses of curvatures on the ends of the hurdle, and lengthening that is connected by hinge-joint to the end of the higher hurdle. To prevent possible cow injuries when barrier is moving along the bottom guide to the milking place, motor drivers are equipped with a safety device. This device is capable of stopping the movement of the barrier, if, for example, in result of animal pressure significantly increases the added barrier plate tilting angle or respectively increases barrier resistance movement.
