Científicos ucranianos con más de 30 años de experiencia en ingeniería ambiental han desarrollado una tecnología rentable y ecológica de protección y estabilización costera basada en el mantenimiento de la biodiversisdad del ecosistema y en la capacidad de autopurificación del entorno acuático. Las soluciones combinan la capacidad de las estructuras para proteger directamente una sección de la costa y soportar y mantener el enriquecimiento de las playas. Los científicos buscan socios industriales y académicos con el fin de adaptar la tecnología a necesidades específicas y establecer acuerdos de cooperación técnica e investigación.

Abrasive shore areas are very dynamic zones that can be easily destroyed under the influence of water and wind erosion.Therefore, shore protection is one of the most reasonable method for the coast line stabilization.. Ukrainian scientists, who have more than 30 years´ experience in enviromental engineering, jointly with one of the leading Ukrainian University developed a wide range of cost-effective and environmentally friendly shore protection structures.The solutions combine the ability of the structures to directly protect a section of the coast as well as to support and maintain beach filling/nourishment.Partners (industry or academic) interested in technology adaptation to specific needs are sought.The developers are looking for technical and research cooperation
Advantages and Innovations:
The shore protection solutions are characterized by the following:
-They are comprehensive. The type/scheme/composition of coastal structures are defined on the basis of regional coastal plans, coastal environmental systems (features of landscapes,
vegetation and area specificities) as well as economic and social factors;
-They provide for a use of beach nourishment (by the local sandy grounds- sandy inwash) as one of the safest and most effective method for coastal protection which not only allows to prevent a siltation of harbor but also to create recreation zones and to develop woodland park belts on the banks protected from erosion. Thus, this approach has a number of environmental, esthetic and social advantages;
-They are based on the Convention on biological diversity and combine the engineering and bioengineering techniques for bank protection that enable to accelerate significantly the naturalization process in the coastal defence structures. It contributes to the operation efficiency of coastal structure in whole as well as leads to the improvement of water quality;
-They are cost-effective: the operating costs of sand inwash (1km) is 4-7 times lower than the costs of stone structures and jetties;
-They allow to maintain a long-term preservation of natural hydrological regime in the "shorewater body" and to serve as a barrier to the surface run-off.
