Se trata de un nuevo proceso de sinterización que permite aumentar la vida útil y durabilidad de elementos mecánicos sometidos a un fuerte estrés. La empresa ha desarrollado la tecnología de demostración, pero no tiene la capacidad para fabricar estas unidades. Se buscan socios industriales en el sector de cogeneración y energía térmica con el fin de establecer acuerdos comerciales con asistencia técnica.

Description:
A French SME specialized in the design and development of hard metallic balls for different industrial use has developed a new alloy and sintering process which allows a significant improvement in life time and durability of mechanical elements under heavy stress.

From this material, resulting from numerous years of internal research, the company has developed a new type of ball bearings which life duration is greatly improved compared with conventional steel ball bearing at similar speed and constraints while being able to withstand harsh environment.

It has also designed and patented a new set of turbine blades (new shape and geometry) to be installed in a cogeneration unit.

The capabilities of this material in terms of wear resistance and hardness as well as high quality surface finish enables new applications with high speed turning turbine leading to significant improvement in the efficiency of cogeneration units.

In order to prove the concept, the company has developed a demonstrator based on a cogeneration steam unit with a wood boiler, but the principle can work with any type of steam boiler.

With a production of 360 kg of steam per hour at 250°C and 11 bar, the turbine produces 25 kW while spinning at 9000 rpm. This is to be compared with existing units which in the same conditions will only be able to spin at 3000 rpm and produce 6 kW maximum. Other turbines can go up to 60 kW but requires 9 times more steam and higher temperature, thus a lower efficiency.

The company has no willingness to produce such cogeneration units, its core business is the manufacturing of balls as well as turbine blades. It is therefore looking for an industrial partner in the field of small to medium size cogeneration units or steam boilers to transfer the technology through a commercial agreement with a technical assistance, the offering company keeping the production of the dedicated ball bearings and blades.
