Description:
The Austrian company is specialised in sales and service of systems in diagnostic imaging with a focus on digital recording technology and digital imaging. They are doing research on texture analysis of medical images to classify osteoporosis and osteoarthritis for non-invasive diagnosis and early detection.
They developed a software that supports non-invasive diagnosis and early detection of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis based on image and bone microstructure analysis. The method identifies the regions of interest and analyses the bone micro architecture of the marked human bone. The company does research on texture analysis of medical images to classify osteoporosis and osteoarthritis for non-invasive diagnosis and early detection.
The software automatically segments the knee joint, sets landmarks and contours for the detection of the joint space width (JSW) and area (JSA). Therefore a high reproducibility for follow-up medical examinations can be granted. In addition the software supports a semi-automated calculation of the Kellgren-Lawrence score for the assessment of the degree of osteoarthritis.
The sought algorithms shall analyse 2D x-ray images aiming at:
- Clear distinction between healthy and osteoarthritis/osteoporosis diseased bone microarchitecture
- High robustness to x-ray image variations caused by modality, exposure, noise, blur, magnification and projection angle

The company is looking for partners that can provide a ready-to-use solution to be integrated into the company's software. This could be in the form of a commercial agreement with technical assistance or licence agreement.
