R-Y-D partners sought on the development of textile goods applicable to medial area
Summary:
A Korean university majoring in the textile engineering hopes to apply for an R-Y-D project such as Horizon 2020 or others with Korean yarn and fabric manufacturing companies regarding medical textiles. The project idea is to develop sensor embedded garment and commercialize it by applying it to the medical clothing. Any partners interested in the development of textile goods under a research cooperation agreement and a technical cooperation agreement are welcomed.
Description:
In Daegu city, South Korea, there are many kinds of textile companies and research institutes since it is the textile heart of the country. In addition, Daegu city is a medical town accumulated with various medical hospitals. These textile companies and medical hospitals hope to develop a patient uniform(garment) which is made of sensor embedded fabric.

Based on the demand of textile and medical industry, a Korean university located in Daegu city is looking for a European partner (SME or research institute) who possess a sensor embedded yarn manufacturing technology.

To conveniently and accurately check the status of patients by data exchange through the sensor embedded in the clothing, a patient uniform (garment) for a heart disease patient should be developed to enhance better mutual communication between the patient and the medical doctor.

The university wants to find European partners who can offer yarn and fabric manufacturing technology using iron or carbon embedded fibres.

The role of Korean university on the R-Y-D consortium is to make sensor embedded yarns and fabrics, which is carried out using university´s facilities. This will be performed through communication with European partners about sensor embedded technology.

Also, the university is hoping to apply for H2020 under the topic of development of a patient clothing/gowns. Apart from H2020, other European funded projects can be considered upon discussion. The partner should be interested in the research cooperation agreement and the technical cooperation agreement.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
Technical specifications of the partners for which a university is looking are as follows; (a)SME being capable of manufacturing sensor embedded yarns and fabrics (b)design company or research institute related to the sensor imbedded garment applicable to the patient uniform in the medical section.

Partner sought

Type and Role of Partner Sought:
- Type of partner sought: SME or public research institute
- Specific area of activity of the partner: the partner should be an ICT or textile industry performing manufacturer or designer
- Task to be performed: A university hopes that the partner possesses manufacturing technology related to sensor embedded yarn and garment design.
(a) SME that can manufacture sensor embedded yarns and fabrics.
(b) design company or research institute related to the sensor imbedded garment for a heart disease patient uniform in the medical section.
The partner should be interested in applying for H2020 or other European funded projects.
