Description:
A Korean company is an enterprise software vendor which was founded in 1999. It has developed various kinds of IT service operation management solutions and is a leading provider of homegrown IT management systems that holds the largest market share in the South Korean market. It especially specializes and has focused on doing research and development on monitoring, analyzing and visualizing the data of IT infrastructures such as servers, networks, WAS(web application server), database and etc for the past 17 years.

Since 2014, the company has collaborated with providers of sensors and gateways to compose a testbed and pilot model in regard to collecting sensor data and processing them for visualization by utilizing the existing solution framework. The company has completed the research on real-time event/data collection, analysis, and processing. Also, machine learning based prediction algorithms were developed.

Since the beginning of 2016, the company has been in the process of applying for domestic R-Y-D project to monitor, diagnose and forecast the state of the facilities in smart factories by cooperating with a partner who provides sensor and communication module facilities.

However, there are difficulties that the company is facing. They are lack of industrial database as well as experts of FMS(Facility Management system)
To resolve its difficulties, the company would like to do research and development regarding data collection-analysis, forecast utilizing big data analysis linking to facilities of entities under the framework of EUREKA or EUROSTARS2 with a European partner.
The software solution that this company would like to develop is used to save energy for electric facilities(manufacturing facilities) and for fault prediction of equipment that could be used in smart factory industry.

The roles for each partner will be as follows.
- Overseas partner side: a partner company as a provider of sensors facilities to its customers such as plant(factory) operators should be able to collect and save related power consumption data. Any companies who specialize in providing IoT(Internet of Things) applied process control for manufacturing facilities such as PLC(Power Line Communication) or DCS(Distributed Control System) are welcomed. Also, company that can play a role as a technical adviser on the above mentioned area is welcomed as well.
- Korean side: the Korean company will develop a framework solution of data collection, analysis and prediction by using the technology provided from the partner company. Also, together with overseas partner, the Korean company would like to develop machine learning software that can save power consumption of facility devices.
The result of this R-Y-D project will be establishing a cloud-based real-time data collection and analysis solution for process control to check the state of facilities. By using this solution, it would be possible to detect and effectively manage the facilities malfunction and the energy consumption of the facilities.

With the result of this project, the company is targeting their own customer base (300 data centers in South Korea) and entering potential customer market (factories, buildings, smart city projects) based on customized software solution adapted to facility management system by cooperating with the global partner. Also, they are expecting that co-developed solution would provide partner´s potential and actual customers with key values.

The expected project duration is about 1 year and they are planning to apply for the proposal under the program of EUREKA or EUROSTARS2 by September, 2016. Therefore, the deadline of receiving the expression of interest(EOI) will be by the beginning of August, 2016.
