The cleanliness of global water resources is becoming increasingly threatened. New data-driven technologies have the potential to reduce water scarcity, flooding and pollution.

A UK research consortium working in the water industry has developed a business model which incentivise industrial businesses to work in a synchronised way with other businesses to best use the water available to the business.

The research consortium is aiming at completing a feasibility project. The technology integrates the use of distributed control technology (i.e. ´Internet of Things´) by using Big Data, including satellite and sensor data.

The research consortium is looking for expertise in industrial companies control processes to explore how interventions into industrial companies control processes can be synchronised across a river basin.

The consortium is looking for industrial partners
- Which are more likely to pollute water such as chemical manufacturers, mining companies, flour milling, malt manufacturing etc.
- Which use a lot of clean water such as beverage (especially beer) and food manufacturers etc.

The research consortium is seeking expertise transfer agreement with those industrial companies. The industrial partner would become part of the user group.

The partnership will be partly financed by UK government matched funding and the industrial partner would be expected to provide a modest amount of sponsorship to help the small and medium size companies with their matched funding.
