Description:
A large German chemical company is looking for partners with chemical additives technologies that can prevent plugging in pipelines.

Flow assurance is relevant for all processes where materials or fluids are pumped through pipelines e.g. blood in veins, sewer lines, and production processes. Undesired deposition of solid deposits in pipelines can lead to plugging. Besides a mechanical solution, different concepts are known which are based on chemical solutions. Such chemicals can prevent plugging of flow lines by solid deposits by inhibiting agglomeration, dissolution of solid deposits or inhibiting the formation of deposits.

The company invites proposals for additives that can be used in at least one of the above mentioned concepts to avoid deposition of solid material in pipelines. The proposed additive must be soluble in oil-phase-based liquids. Only products available for demonstration are sought, no purely academic approach in an early stage.

Within a research cooperation agreement, existing products would be tested by the client for usability, potentially with a following request to the partner to modify the agent. A joint venture agreement could be used if initial research leads to a successful modified product and has to be manufactured within this joint venture. A license agreement would be an option, if it was possible and useful to manufacture the identified additives at the client´s premises.
